ENJOYING GRÍMSEY ISLAND

  The only place in Iceland where you can cross the Arctic Circle is on Grímsey; a wee island ca 60 km NW of Húsavík. This place is not far away anymore. At least not in time, thanks to our RIBs which both can reach the thrilling speed of 52 knots.

Lately the whales in Skjálfandi Bay proofed once more how adorable these gentle marine mammals are.It was the second trip on Sylvia at 13:15. We went out into Skjálfandi Bay with a full boat.

EVENING TOUR 20:15 FINISHED

In Iceland we have the privilege to live with 24 hour daylight and midnight sun during the summer, which means that we also have 24 hour darkness lying over us in the winter. As the differences over the seasons are so big, the changes also go very fast.

RIBS - GREAT FOR WHALE WATCHING

To invest in RIB Amma Sigga (2011) was probably one of the best decisions ever made in this company. Thanks to its speed, agility and comfortable size, it is ultimate for whale watching. This boat turned out to be so popular that we this year got Amma Sigga's "big sister" RIB Amma Kibba too, due to the very high demand.

SPEED BOAT RESCUE DRILL

  We turned the bad sea conditions into something good yesterday, when captain and guides working on our speed boats practised safety on board RIB Amma Kibba through having a rescue drill. We saved each other from the sea, practised climbing the ladder, how to put the rescue belt on in the water, how to lift an unconscious person back on board, went over all the safety equipment a.

WILD DOLPHIN SHOW

The white-beaked dolphin is the most common type of dolphin in the North Atlantic Ocean. Being very robust, they are perfectly adapted for the cold waters in the north where they are resident even during the cold winters.

"THRILLING WILDLIFE EXPERIENCE"

 Yesterday we had a passenger, Mr Bowers, who enjoyed the Big Whale Safari so much that he decided to take the same tour a second time - and convinced Mrs Bowers to come too. This is what he wrote on a note just before he left down to the harbour a second time: "It was the most thrilling wildlife experience I have ever had.
