FIRST BLUE WHALES OF THE SEASON

This morning the first Blue Whales of the season were spotted by our captain Bessi on board Faldur. We started our trip going south west and after 45 minutes approx. a difficult Minke whale was spotted.

BREACHING MINKE WHALE

This morning something amazing and totally unexpected happened on our morning trip. Weather conditions were not the nicest ones for our passengers - cold, wind, rain and choppy sea – but they were all very positive and optimistic and wanted to see some whales.

WHALE WATCHING IN THE FOG

The 13:15 tour today started quite normal. Guide Daniel was introducing to passengers onboard Faldur the safety onboard and the most common whales. Captain Alli was heading towards the area they had spotted humpbacks, a minke whale and harbour porpoises in the morning.

1ST MAY – SEASON START

Today the 2008 whale watching season formally began. Unfortunately we weren’t able to go out today due to bad weather conditions – however, according to the forecast the weather should be better at the weekend! MAINTENANCE IN CALM SPRING WEATHER

The last days have been great for maintenance, painting and other preparations for the summer. The weather has been good and summer is definitely “just around the corner” … Crew members Alli and Bessi are working hard these weeks to get our fleet in top shape for the summer.

SAFETY TRAINING BY GG CREW

Safety training is an important part by GG, and our staff is trained in safety and survival by the Maritime Safety and Survival Training Centre of Iceland (MSSTC).Earlier this month GG crew members attended courses by the MSSTC, onboard the training vessel Sæbjörg.
