PUFFINS, HERE WE COME!

As half of the month is over, we are adding more daily departures to our current schedule: From now on, our oak Faldur departs twice a day at 09:45 and 13:15 for the "GG1 Whale Watching". At the same time, our RIB speed boats head out three times daily at 09:30, 12:30 and 15:00 for the "GG2 Big Whale Safari & Puffins".

As days pass by and we are approaching the mid of the month, our puffin season is not far away anymore. On the 15th of April we will finally start stopping by Lundey (Puffin Island) again on our “GG2 Big Whale Safari & Puffins” on our RIB speed boats.

After a stormy Easter and therefore slightly delayed start into our this year's season, the last days have been extremely pretty out in the bay. For now, the whole landscape is still dressed in its winter beauty, which makes sailing along the mountains such a stunning experience.

THE COUNTDOWN HAS STARTED

Only one week until we will finally sail out into Skjálfandi Bay again! Whilst all of us are waiting in excitement for the moment that we leave Húsavík harbour again on the 1st of April, preparations are still in full swing and everything is finally getting ready for our season start next week as well as the months to come.

A BIG DAY FOR DEAR SYLVÍA

WINTER VISITORS

Two bearded seals have been visiting Húsavík harbour several times throughout this winter. Just as whales, also seals are marine mammals, even though they’re semi-aquatic. More precisely, they´re pinnipeds (one of four taxonomic groups marine mammals are divided into).

Today, 8th of March, we celebrate International Women´s Day.We at Gentle Giants are not only proud of a very international team, but also for having women employed in nearly all work fields within the company: in customer service (prior to your arrival as well as on-site, at the ticket center as much as around our meeting points by the harbour), as guides and captains on the boats as well as in the office and management.
