A GIANT FEEDING PARTY

Our whale watching tours have been exceptional throughout the past week! More and more whales seem to turn up in a popular feeding area along the Cheek Mountains (Kinnarfjöll) on the other side of the bay.

AN ACROBATIC HUMPBACK!

This morning, two of our RIBs headed out on the GG2 Big Whale Safari and Puffins tour. Though the sea was a bit wavy, after seeing thousands of puffins we had wonderful looks at three different humpback whales.

THE HUMPBACK ORIEN RETURNS

Just as before, also during the past days our encounters with humpback whales have been fabulous! Several individuals keep staying in different areas of the bay and were sighted on all our departures.

BAY FULL OF HUMPBACKS

Probably 7 different humpback whales were spotted today! As well the crew on the RIB speedboat as the oak boat crew enabled our passengers to see most of them from a short distance. The amount of humpback whales in our bay obviously continues to increase.

LOADS OF LIFE IN THE BAY

During the past days the whale watching has been really successful. More and more whales – especially humpback whales – have made their way up to the north and into our bay. On nearly all our tours we were able to spot these animals in different areas of the bay – some of them were just a short boat ride away from the harbour! Also yesterday at least two individuals were sighted in addition to some minke whales, which had been spotted already the previous days.

WHALES, DOLPHINS AND SUNSHINE

After a couple of stormy days and a sudden snowfall on Saturday, we were surprised by sunshine and a cloudless sky yesterday morning. Hence, everyone was looking forward to sail out in this beautiful summer-like conditions.
