We send our warmest holiday greetings to you all!Best regards from the team of Gentle Giants
Christmas is just around the corner and holiday atmosphere here in Húsavík. Our boats have been decorated with the annual lights and look great in Húsavík harbour in this darkest period of the year. Still looking for a Christmas gift? Surprise your near and dear ones with a gift card for a whale watching experience from the Whale Capital of Iceland.
Two decades at Gentle Giants at the age of "only" 32. Not only is this a big birthday year for the company celebrating twenty years but also indeed for our team member Daniel, who has been a part of the team since the very beginning and with passion taken part in the whole successful development step by step.
Yet another memorable and successful whale watching season has come to an end today. We'd like to thank all our passengers for having joined our tours throughout the season as well as our crew on land and on the boats for coming from near and far to make the tours possible.
Orcas on today's tour. In snowy winter weather today, the enthusiastic crew and passengers on board Sylvía eagerly searched for whales but keeping expectations low due the conditions. But as we always say, wild nature is indeed unpredictable.
The leading German model ship magazine ModellWerft has just published a detailed front page article featuring a model ship inspired by Gentle Giants boat Faldur. It certainly was a great surprise when we received a copy of the newest issue of the ModellWerft magazine yesterday, where Faldur plays a major different role.
Gentle Giants Whale Watching employs people from places all over the world. Some of our staff members are students who come to spend their summers in Húsavík to earn money, while at the same time being able to see and enjoy whale sightings every day.
Although season 2021 is still in full swing with daily whale watching departures from Húsavík throughout November, we are also busy preparing for next year. Online bookings on our website are now open so you can book your adventure for 2022. Check out our new sales manual and get inspired to visit the Whale Capital of Iceland! The 2022 whale watching season will start on April 1st and we are looking forward to it already.
"I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them."Our season is still in full swing, but that doesn't mean we can't look back and take 5 minutes to realise how great it has been so far and in so many aspects.
It's that time of the year again! The month of August has come to an end, opening up to new opportunities of seeing rare visitors in the bay. Several migratory birds have already left, such as the puffins, some others, like the artic terns are about to start heading South for their long long winter migration.
